The Ernest Hemingway Room
This richly appointed third floor room was designed by Gayle Lipman of Livermore California. It was inspired by a famous visitor to the mansion, Ernest Hemingway, who was discovered by Maxwell Evarts Perkins when he worked for Charles Scribner's and Son's Publishing. Perkins was a close relative of Maxwell Evarts who built this mansion in 1901. The "hunt" country theme is highlighted by suede faux finished walls painted by co-innkeeper, Ari Nikki, and a hand carved four poster "rice" bed. The room has a corner gas fireplace and a comfy sitting area at the end of the bed. Two dormer windows offer views of the old growth forest and one alcove contains a writing desk in case you are so inspired! The room is approximately 450 square feet and it has a beautiful bathroom with modern tub and shower and a pedestal sink with gold gilt hardware. Other amenities include: our custom blended sherry, our signature bathrobes for your use while in house fine art, antiques and designer furniture.
